Terms of membership

The IBS Register is widely respected and used by those living with IBS and also used as a reference and resource pool for some in the medical profession. To this end it is important that information is accurate and true, and always kept upto date. To this end members are expected to adhere to the following terms, and application for membership is take to mean you accept and agree these terms.

1: I understand the Register cannot guarantee clients; any clients coming to me through the Register will be treated by me in best practice.

2: The Register is not liable in any way for any such referrals, nor any treatment, product or service given by the therapist. The contract is strictly between the client and the therapist. I agree to make this known to the client before any treatment commences. I confirm I have had additional proven training in treating IBS patients or have a proven successful history in treating IBS Patients. 

3: I understand that Michael Mahoney or agents of the IBS Register reserve the right to decline membership at their discretion. No correspondence will be entered into, except the declined notification. Each membership application will be reviewed subject to the appropriate fee being submitted. In the instance of a membership being declined a nominal sum of £30 GBP will be retained to cover review and administration costs. All other fees will be refunded. It is therefore your responsibility to ensure your experience matches membership criteria.

4: The IBS Register reserves the right to check and follow through all applications for membership. Your membership application will assume you agree to this process being conducted. e reserve the right to follow through references, insurance and other relevant information.

5: I agree to co-operate fully with the Register in the event of any complaint being made against me by any individual I have treated.

6: I confirm my practice follows the requirements of the data protection act (UK) and all other requirements deemed nessecary by local laws if outside the UK.

7: I understand any member charged with any offence against a client, or bringing their profession into disrepute in a way deemed as such by The Register or its agents will be immediately suspended from the Register. If found guilty by a court of law, the practitioner will be removed from the register.  Members agree to notify the IBS Register of any actual or  impending claim against the therapist.

8: I understand the Register reserves the right to revisit the membership criteria of all members at timely intervals and, where deemed necessary, request additional information.

8: I agree and understand the need  to keep the Register updated with all changes of circumstances, including providing insurance certificates etc, change of address, email practice details etc. These can be actioned by the therapist through the IBS Register Site. Extended listing of members must be kept upto date. I understand failure to do so will result in automatic termination of my membership. 

9: From the date of membership application you are required to send hard copy evidence of your practice insurance and qualifications. you may do this by sending information by email attachement or by post to The IBS Register PO Box 57 Warrington WA5 1FG, Cheshire England.  Please ensure these are with us within 14 days of application. A provisional acceptance of membership may be granted based on your online submission, however full membership is not given until all requested information is received, see 3 above.

10: We reserve the right to amend these conditions without notice, therefore we recommend you bookmark this page to revisit at timely intervals.
